Head of Marketing    

Position Overview 

Permanent Full-time (with three months initial probation period) 

Standard business hours are 9:00am to 5:30pm Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30pm Monday  

However the nature of this position may sometimes require time outside of standard hours; these times are deemed part of the salary package.   

Role 

This role is to create and master an online and offline marketing system to deliver new leads and customers to the business to support the company's growth targets of doubling turnover each year.  

Accountabilities 

The Head of Marketing reports to and is accountable to the CEO and will be part of the Senior Management Team.

Responsibilities  

This position focuses on the following areas: 

Responsibilities

Website (content and SEO)

  • Manage and develop rich website content to attract target market to website and auction sites.
  • Grow leads by converting site traffic through calls to action, landing pages and lead generation content (including offers).
  • Optimise marketing automation and lead development process through email content and social channels.
  • Test and measure to refine process.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and changes with the SEO and major search engines.
  • Evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize marketing team performance.
  • Proactively scope and present new ideas to improve our website experience for prospects, lead and customers.
  • Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert customers.

Social Media Management

  • Build and manage the company’s social media profile and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and other relevant channels.
  • Create sharable content to spread our brand and the company’s sales.
  • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our company and industry.
  • Run regular social promotions and campaigns.
  • Help distribute content that educates and entertains our audience and supports our marketing goals.
  • Drive traffic from social media to the website and our auctions to grow the number of leads for the business.
  • Test and measure to refine the process.
  • Know social media platforms fluently, also know how to develop strategies specific to various social networks, track the right metrics, and integrate the best tools and practices on those platforms.
  • Manage our social media accounts by implementing strategies and tactics that grow our followers, engage and retain them, and help convert them into leads, customers, and active fans and promotors of our company.
  • Track measure and analyse all initiatives to report on social media ROI.                                                               

Email marketing

  • Develop and track email campaigns to increase our business through driving leads to the web and auction sites.
  • Grow our email list organically with relevant and target customers.
  • Manage email campaigns, including the template designs, calls-to action, and content used in our emails.
  • Segment lists based on behaviours like past email engagement, website interactions.
  • Measure results and optimize the lead nurturing workflows for these segments to convert leads into customers.
  • Develop documentation and road maps for processes.
  • Test and measure

Blog/edutainment

Stay up-to-date with digital marketing trends and potential new channels and strategies to keep us ahead, including updates to social media marketing.  Use and develop the skills necessary to market and promote the company and our sales / stock to existing and new markets by edutaining and informing. 

Write or source relevant blogs that will inform, educate and entertain our target market audience putting the company at the forefront of knowledge in the Auction business.

Trade Shows

  • Make investment case for each event.
  • Plan and timetable Trade Shows to attend during the year.
  • Develop and create presentations, signage and trade show collateral as needed.
  • Arrange for key personnel to attend and brief on purpose and desired outcomes of each event.
  • Evaluate return on investment of each event after its completion.

Test and Measure

Monitor and maintain data quality within the marketing database.

Analyse marketing and sales data to develop insights and make recommendations on areas for optimization.
